Our History
Bible Baptist Church was founded in 1965 by Pastor R.T. Andrews, who was driven by a vision to reach the people of Las Vegas with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ. Under his leadership, the church became a place of hope and transformation in "sin city".
In 1977, Edward "Pete" McKenzie was one of many whose life was forever changed through the ministry of Bible Baptist. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour in the upper teen room and later surrendered his life to full-time ministry.
After Pastor Andrews retired, the church called Pastor Pete to become its next pastor. With a heart for souls and a passion for God's Word, Pastor Pete became a guiding light in Las Vegas. He faithfully led the church, emphasizing discipleship and biblical training. His commitment to equipping men and women for God’s service led him to establish the A.V. Institute of Biblical Studies.
Pastor Pete served faithfully until the Lord called him home in 2014. Following his passing, Pastor Mitch Serviss became our current pastor. Under his leadership, Bible Baptist Church continues to be a beacon of truth and grace.
Over the past 60 years, through the faithful ministry of Bible Baptist Church, hundreds have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour. We rejoice in what God has done and look forward to what He will continue to do in the years ahead.

Our Pastor
Mitch Serviss was born and raised in a Christian home. As a young boy, his parents began attending Treasure Valley Baptist Church in Meridian, Idaho. Shortly after, Mitch trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour. He was blessed to grow up in a church that encouraged spiritual growth, daily Bible reading, and sound preaching.
As a teenager, Mitch surrendered his life to serve God in whatever way He saw fit. Considering himself a simple country boy, he finished high school, worked with cattle, began plumbing, graduated from Boise State University, and faithfully served in several church ministries.
In 1998, he married Erin, and in 2003, God called him to serve as youth pastor under his father-in-law at Bible Baptist Church. Mitch joyfully served in that role for 11 years, always eager to help wherever needed. One of his favorite roles was serving as camp director for 20 years.
In 2014, Bible Baptist Church asked Mitch to become the pastor, and he was officially ordained in 2016. Pastor Mitch deeply loves his congregation, his Saviour, the King James Bible, his family, and praises God for calling him to serve in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mitch holds a Bachelor of Divinity for the A.V. Institute of Biblical Studies

Our Beliefs
Doctrinal & Positional Statement
Our statement is virtually identical to thousands of Independent, Bible-believing Baptist churches around the world. We would make an additional statement to the belief regarding the Bible. We are not impressed with the typical statements made regarding "inspiration of the original manuscripts." This is usually just a smokescreen to say that the King James Bible is only a good translation. We believe that the A.V. 1611 (KJB) is the pure, preserved word of God, without error as promised in Psalm 12:6,7.
We are truly Baptist, meaning we are a shepherd-led church, rather than a board-run church. The politics derived from convention-like churches becomes a sure road to apostasy. We are Independent — Free from any outside denominational hierarchy or control.
We are dispensational in our understanding of the Scriptures. Rightly dividing the word of truth is the only method of reconciling the supposed contradictions in the Bible. The greatest body of truth for the "church age" saint is in the Epistles of Paul.
We are soul-winning & missions-focused meaning we actively engaged in sharing the Gospel locally and globally.
We do not ascribe to the modern purpose-driven church mentality that has become so fashionable today for the purpose of building mega-churches. Our music and message is to build up the saints for reaching the lost, not to draw in the world with worldly methods.
We are not ecumenical in any form. We believe that the greatest enemy of Bible-believing Christianity has been Rome in any form.
While we are a very gifted church, we do not hold to the modern charismatic movement and believe that their boastful claims of sweeping revival, holy-laughter, holy barking, raising the dead is a great hinderence to the true work of spreading the gospel.
We believe that life begins at the moment of conception and that abortion is the murder of a child, and not simply the removal of fetal tissue.
We are NOT "Baptist-briders" and therefore find repugnant the idea that Jesus through John the Baptist propigated a baptist-succession, and all other born-again believers are somehow excluded from the bride of Christ. Conversely, it is evident that the greater portion of King James Bible-believing churches in the world are made up of Independent Baptists. Our heritage is connected to a long line of Bible believers who could be identified by several names and referred to by Rome as "anabaptists."
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity should be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. Any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, beastiality, incest, fornication, adultery, pedophilia, and pornography is a sinful perversion of God's gift of sex.
We are pro-Israel and pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
This, in no way, is an exhaustive list of our beliefs.
